Copilot for M365: Indirectly Create a Presentation from a OneNote Notebook

In this article, I will show you how to create a PowerPoint presentation from a OneNote notebook.

At the time of this writing it is not possible to directly create a presentation from either PowerPoint or OneNote.

Step 1: From OneNote, save a section or notebook as a Word Document.

  1. Right click on the section to export and choose the export option
  2. Choose Current Section, Page, or Notebook
  3. Choose Word XML
  4. Create a name for your document and save to your OneDrive

Step 2: Get a link to your new document

From your OneDrive, right click on the file and choose Copy Link

Step 3: From PowerPoint, create a presentation from the new file

From the Copilot pane, enter this prompt: Create a presentation from this file: https://distributedlogiccorp-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/personal/mark_parsons_distributedlogic_com/Documents/xfer/Copilot%20OneNote%20Overview.docx?d=w6dd29474271e4c28b651eda2462e270e&csf=1&web=1&e=hM5FLN

In my case, this resulted in a nice 46 slide presentation.
